I stayed up until 4:30am to finish reading because I simply couldn’t put it down, and then I was immediately depressed for it to be over. Powerful, unadulterated awesomeness! Covet is another a‘Ward’ winning read from the master of paranormal/urban fantasy romance and one of my top favorite books so far this year.
Overall I am looking forward to the next book, because I believe it will make or break the series for me.ĥ+ stars – Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy I kinda hope that in the end of the series he gets his own HEA. Seeing her manipulate and destroy was just so eerie. Devina was evil, and all that was creepy. I did think that Vin accepted Marie Therese's past as a prostitute too easily. I felt their love was instant, but it worked. I liked both Vin and Marie Therese as a couple. I really wanted to see what happened next. By the middle of the book I found myself invested in Jim, Vin, and Marie Therese. I was getting into the fight of good vs evil. When I finally got the feel of the world, I liked the whole paranormal Demons and Angels side to the story. So there I was thinking of dnfing because I was getting bored, but I pushed on and was surprised to find that I enjoyed the second half. I felt like the info dump slowed the book down and at times I got bored. On top of all that info there was development of the hero Vin, the heroine Marie Therese, the demon Devina, and the plot. There was also lot of character development for Jim, who is not the hero but will be in all the books. The first half of the book had a lot of world building.
Ward wrote it I would love it, but it was just okay for me. I would say it's more of an Urban Fantasy with some romance in it.
Going into this read I thought it was going to be a romance with some angels in it. Now if I am going to be honest I will say that the reason I am reading this series is because there are rumors that the villain Devina might be crossing over to BDB and I wanted to know about her so I wouldn't be confused. Don't read this series expecting it to be like BDB at all. That being said this book wasn't like the Black dagger Brotherhood Series that I adore. Ward and I think she is a super talented author. Okay so I want to start this review by saying that I love J.R.
