In Spensa’s planet, people had to live underground, and people’s roles in society solely were based on their test scores. However, when her father did something unjustifiable, Spensa did not know that she had to live with the consequences of her father’s action. The story follows Spensa, who dreams to be a space pilot just like her father. You will not just be amazed by the seamless world-building that he creates and humane characters that you’ll love, but also the unexpected twists and turns that will completely blind you until the very end. It is another distinct novel of how Sanderson is a storyteller expert. Skyward tells us a story that we choose who we are. You’ll have to read all the books written by him because he’s an excellent writer!

You know once you get to read one of Sanderson’s books, you never just stop with one. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. And an accidental discovery in a long-forgotten cavern might just provide her with a way to claim the stars. Flight school might be a long shot, but she is determined to fly. No one will let Spensa forget what her father did, yet fate works in mysterious ways. But her fate is intertwined with that of her father’s-a pilot himself who was killed years ago when he abruptly deserted his team, leaving Spensa the daughter of a coward, her chances of attending Flight School slim to none. Since she was a little girl, she has imagined soaring skyward and proving her bravery. Spensa’s world has been under attack for decades. Now pilots are the heroes of what’s left of the human race, and becoming one has always been Spensa’s dream.
